Following the decision to conduct a Bush Fire Relief Appeal to aid the many victims that have suffered during these disastrous past weeks members could make a donation or join in our Australia Day celebrations that were moved Saturday 25th January .
The response was amazing with over 100 people involved on the day coming together after a day of bowls to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea. The day was sponsored by Hocking Stuart and Wayne Foran from their Mornington office was in attendance to present the prizes and conduct the auction.
All the proceeds from the Green Fees, BBQ, Raffles and the Auction along with the donations from the Members swelled the Relief Fund by just over $6500. A wonderful result.
Chairman Tony Spring made the presentation last week to the Rotary Club of Bairnsdale Sunrise to be distributed to locals in the Gippsland area most affected by the bushfires with replacing fencing, providing temporary sheds and vouchers for the purchase of equipment and supplies to businesses to get them up and going again.
